It appears that Pandelela Rinong is peaking just in time for the Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships.
Malaysia will also be hoping for the best, as there is not much time left to secure the Asian powerhouse’s Olympic quota in the women’s 10m synchronised diving event for Paris 2024.
The two-time Olympic medallist had an inconsistent previous few seasons, winning bronze in the women’s 10m platform and synchro events at the 2022 World Championships and returning empty-handed in the Commonwealth Games later that year.
The seven-time medallist at the World Championships was also unable to advance to the individual 10m platform semi-finals in Fukuoka, Japan in 2023 due to illness and injuries.
But that was followed by a fantastic performance at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, where the 30-year-old, along with Nur Dhabitah Sabri, won bronze in both the women’s 10m platform and women’s 10m synchro events.
Rinong will compete in the 10m platform event, and the two will line up together one more in Doha in 2024.
