Olivia Rodrigo Announces ‘Guts’ World Tour Dates

For the second tour of her quickly-expanding career, Olivia Rodrigo is touring in support of her latest album, “Guts.” The journey begins in California in February and goes across North America for six weeks before heading to Europe. It then makes a second trip back to North America in May, and it ends on August 14 in Rodrigo’s home of Los Angeles.

The tour has some great opening acts, all of which are female and three are young: PinkPantheress, a dance-pop singer from Britain; L.A.- based pop singer Chappell Roan, whose debut collection is out the following week; on all European dates, pop-rock singer from California named Remi Wolf; furthermore, veteran alt-rock act the Raisers, drove by ex-Fairies vocalist Kim Arrangement, who are most popular for the line of radio and video hits coming from their 1993 collection “Last Sprinkle.” The last decision appears to be surprising however is on brand for Rodrigo: The singer covered the Veruca Salt song “Seether,” which she claimed audiences “came out before I was born” but was introduced to by her mother, during Rodrigo’s debut tour last year. Only the dates in New York and Los Angeles feature The Breeders.

Tuesday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Rodrigo took the stage after Lil Wayne to sing “Vampire” and “Get Him Back!” Rodrigo sang her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Good 4 U” at the 2021 VMAs, marking her first participation at the event.

Two top 10 singles, “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” were released ahead of “Guts” on September 8 via Geffen Records to critical acclaim. Rodrigo became the youngest artist to release three No. 1 singles on the list with “Vampire,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, following “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U.”

Rodrigo stated in an interview with Capital FM in England that several of the songs on “Guts” were written with the idea of an accompanying tour “in mind.”

“I think there’s a lot of fun songs,” she said. “I wrote the album with a tour in mind, so I think they’re all songs I wanted people to be able to scream in a crowd. Hopefully, that’s what’s achieved.” A similar teaser — in the form of a faux ticket advertising “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts The World Tour” — appeared in a lyric video for “Making the Bed,” the sixth track off “Guts.”

The last time Rodrigo went on tour was in 2022, in promotion of her debut album “Sour” across North America and Europe. Portland hosted the April 5 start, and London hosted the July 7 finish. Opening performances included Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone, Chappell Roan, and Baby Queen.
