Creed has scheduled a 40-city North American tour, marking their first road trip together in over a decade, following their scheme to reunite with their Summer of ’99 cruise in 2024.
Produced by Live Nation, the Summer of ’99 tour of 2024 will begin on July 17, 2024, and run through September 28. Finger Eleven will open all dates on the reunion run, while Daughtry, Switchfoot, Tonic, and Big Wreck will join Creed on select dates. 3 Doors Down will serve as direct support for the remainder of the tour.
Frontman Scott Stapp released a statement saying, “I feel like I’m as strong as I’ve ever been vocally, and looking forward to sharing the stage with the guys again.” “The fans have clearly let us know they feel it’s long overdue. I want to give them what they deserve. I’m ready to bring it.”
Midway through the tour, Creed will make his way to San Bernardino, California, to headlining the inaugural Summer of ’99 and Beyond Festival. This event will serve as a springboard for the openers on other tour legs and will also feature a few additional special guests. On August 31 at San Bernadino’s Glen Helen Amphitheatre, 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Finger Eleven, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, and The Verve Pipe will perform with Creed.
Guitarist Mark Tremonti says, “The Summer of ’99 and Beyond Festival in San Bernardino is going to be so special for all of us.” It is giving us a chance to bring performances from the cruises and tour together in one location. That show is going to be a highlight for us next year.”
As the main acts of the Summer of ’99 cruise, which will take place from April 18–22, 2024, Creed revealed in July that they would be performing live for the first time in 12 years. The next weekend, the band added another cruise, and both outings are completely booked.
After hitting hits including “One,” “Higher,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and “My Sacrifice,” Stapp, Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips disbanded as a touring group in 2012. Their 1999 follow-up album, Human Clay, has sold 11.7 million copies worldwide, according to Luminate. Apart from the reunion with Creed, Tremonti just put out a Christmas album called Christmas Classics New & Old, while Stapp’s fourth solo album, Higher Power, is coming out in March 2024.
