Google doodle celebrates the Japan’s Mountain Day 2024

This doodle celebrates Japan’s “Yama no Hi” or “Mountain Day.” On this day, the country’s love for its vast natural beauty reaches a peak. Did you know that over 70% of Japan’s land area is mountainous?

Japan’s Mountain Day was established in 2014 and celebrated for the first time in a national ceremony in the Japanese Alps in 2016. Today, the country’s citizens appreciate and celebrate nature, even visiting the world-famous 3,775-meter-tall Mount Fuji. Not only is Mount Fuji the tallest mountain in Japan, it is also made up of three separate active volcanos.

Other popular activities include mountain biking, walking, hiking, and even climbing the beautiful mountains.
