On October 11, comedian and podcast host Heather McMahan’s second stand-up special, Breadwinner, will debut on Hulu.
The one-hour program, which honors McMahan’s southern heritage, was recorded over the course of two sold-out evenings at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre, the venue where McMahan concluded The Comeback Tour.
“Breadwinner” includes topics such as McMahan’s financial pressures, the perils of being a golf widow, planning an over-budget wedding, and dealing with in-laws.
“Please watch this special so I can continue to financially dominate my husband and sleep like a boss bitch at night,” McMahan said.
McMahan’s first stand-up special, Son I Never Had, is available to stream on Netflix. Segments include TikTok therapy, jokes at her father’s memorial, achieving emergency weight, and more. The special was released on Netflix in October. 17, 2023.
McMahan also hosts the podcast “Absolutely Not,” which has over 400,000 monthly downloads. She also has nearly 1 million followers across social media platforms.
She appears on Hulu alongside Chris Distefano, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Ilana Glazer, Roy Wood Jr., Atsuko Okatsuka, and Jessica Kirson as the streaming service increases the amount of comedy content it offers with original productions commissioned from previously mentioned talent under the Hularious brand.
Under the direction of Jen Zaborowski, Breadwinner is written, sung, and self-produced by McMahan’s Absolutely Not Productions. Maggie Haskins, Chris Ketner, Christina Tompkins, and 800 Pound Gorilla serve as executive producers.
UTA, Artists First, and Ziffren Brittenham LLP are McMahan’s representatives.
