McDonald’s Launches Chicken Big Mac: Here’s What’s Inside and When to Try It

Could the conflicts over chicken sandwiches be rekindled by McDonald’s new Chicken Big Mac? We’ll find out soon.

For a brief while, starting on Thursday, October 10, eateries nationwide will serve the new sandwich. Similar to the classic Big Mac, the Chicken Big Mac sandwich is topped with cheese, pickle slices, lettuce, and Big Mac sauce, but no onions. It is also served on a Big Mac bun.

Additionally, the Chicken Big Mac contains two tempura-batter chicken patties in place of the original sandwich’s two all-beef patties.

Not every McDonald’s patron will be unfamiliar with the Chicken Big Mac. It was made available in the United Kingdom and tested in Miami in 2022.

The Chicken Big Mac is already available in some locations; in Indianapolis, it costs $4.59, and in El Paso, Texas, it costs $5.99.

Over the past ten years, there have been multiple flare-ups in the chicken sandwich wars due to the popularity of chicken sandwiches at fast food restaurants. When Popeyes challenged Chick-fil-A’s hegemony in 2019 by adding a fried chicken sandwich to its permanent national menu, the battle intensified. After a span of two years, several restaurants like McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A, Boston Market, and Shake Shack introduced chicken sandwiches to their menus.

Because McDonald’s has teamed up with online streamer and “Big Mac superfan” Kai Cenat to evaluate “Is the Chicken Big Mac a Big Mac?” with live video appearances on the food chain’s social channels, including Instagram, you’ll probably come across the Chicken Big Mac on social media.

Calorie and nutritional facts for the Chicken Big Mac

Boo Buckets are also coming to McDonald’s.

Here’s a reminder for kids and collectors that McDonald’s will be reintroducing their Monster Boo Buckets, which are included with Happy Meals, for a brief period of time starting on October 15. The trick-or-treating pails are available in a variety of hues, including blue, which will take the role of purple starting in 2023.

The buckets this year are decorated with what seem to be kinder features than previous year’s vampire, mummy, monster, and skeleton. Stickers are available so you may customize your monster on the buckets.
