Epsilon Film Launches Pre-Sales for Animated Adventure ‘Nessie Junior’ at AFM

Pre-sales for “Nessie Junior,” the first development project from the newly established sales firm Epsilon Film, are scheduled to begin in November in Las Vegas and are expected to be a highlight animated film project at the AFM.

The upscale computer-generated imagery cartoon film “Nessie Junior” tells the story of the Loch Ness Monster, the legendary creature that has mesmerized tourists in the Scottish Highlands since it was supposedly first discovered. The ruins of Urquhart Castle overlook the stunning lake of Loch Ness, which has grown to be a very popular vacation spot.

In the movie, Mylo, a local fisherman who operates a Loch Ness Monster tourist attraction on the loch’s shores, says he was attacked by the monster. Neither his stories nor any of the myths surrounding Loch Ness are believed by his teenage daughter, Kellina. However, all changes when she meets Fin, a real, young Nessie.

In a statement, Epsilon states, “And so begins a tale of friendship and caution, loyalty and betrayal, fun and breathtaking adventure as the pair team up to uncover the sea creature’s family secrets hidden in the water’s depths.”

Matthias Drescher, who produced the Emmy-winning film “War of Lies” and “Shifting the Blame,” and Ulrich Schwarz, who co-produced the film “Dragon Rider” from Constantin Film and produced the Netflix sci-fi thriller “Stowaway,” are the producers. Executive producer Robert Chandler, whose production credentials include “The Amazing Maurice” and “The Canterville Ghost,” is involved.

The highly skilled Stuttgart-based animation studio M.A.R.K.13, which is well-known for its work on hit movies like “Maya the Bee” and “Vic the Viking and the Magic Sword,” is the first to join the project. Epsilon Film has joined as a sales and co-producer.

Medienförderung Baden-Württemberg (MFG), a regional film funder, is contributing to the development of the movie.

In order to start the presales for “Nessie Junior,” Epsilon will be showing a first teaser trailer during the next AFM. Epsilon is located in Suite 225 on the tenth floor of the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The Beta Group and two former Global Screen executives, Alice von Einem (née Buquoy) and Julia Weber, are partners in Epsilon.
