What Locations Will White Lotus Season 4 Film?

Fans are already wondering as to where the White Lotus Season 4 will take place, as season three comes to an end tonight.

HBO’s EVP Francesca Orsi disclosed in February that the team had started looking for potential venues. “I can’t really say where we’re going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe.” A majority of season three was shot in the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand, season two was shot at San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons hotel in Taormina, Italy, and season one was shot at the Four Seasons Resort Maui in Wailea, Hawaii.

In October, HBO and the Four Seasons solidified their collaboration, ensuring that White Lotus Season 4 upcoming seasons will continue to be filmed at their resorts. “Mike White and his team have created something truly special. For many Four Seasons guests, especially our pop culture enthusiasts and travel trendsetters, The White Lotus serves as the perfect travel inspiration,” stated Marc Speichert, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Four Seasons.

As a result, we can focus our speculation on Four Seasons locations in Europe. Italy is off the table since season two was filmed there, making it unlikely for the series to revisit the same country. Norway is also eliminated from consideration, following reports from Norwegian media that a “major production was awarded 88 million kroner from the Norwegian Film Institute” as an incentive to film in the country, which was ultimately declined. (Additionally, there are no Four Seasons hotels in Norway.)

Also, there’s probably no chance of a ski resort season: Since White Lotus despises the cold, executive producer Dave Bernard stated that the team will never have a skiing season. “I feel confident we will never do a season in the cold,” he said on The Bill Simmons Podcast. “Mike White is not for it. He is a California guy. He is not built for the cold.”

Thus, the following Four Seasons locations are listed below, arranged alphabetically:

    • Athens, Greece
    • Baku, Azerbaijan
    • Budapest, Hungary
    • French Riviera
    • Geneva, Switzerland
    • Hampshire, England
    • Istanbul, Turkey
    • Lisbon, Portugal
    • London, England
    • Madrid, Spain
    • Mallorca, Spain
    • Megève, France
    • Paris, France
    • Prague, Czech Republic

We can eliminate all the major cities—such as London, Paris, Istanbul, Baku, Madrid, Lisbon, Geneva, and Prague—since White and The White Lotus team have not yet chosen a bustling urban setting for any season, and a crowded environment is not ideal for filming an entire season.

This narrows our top five predictions down to: (1) the Four Seasons Astir Palace, a beach resort near Athens, Greece; (2) Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel, situated in the French Riviera; (3) Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, a charming hotel in the English countryside; (4) Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor, located on the Spanish island; and (5) Four Seasons Hotel Megève, nestled in the French Alps. Although White has mentioned he won’t set a season in a cold climate, the Megève property operates year-round.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that White and his team might choose to skip Europe altogether and select a different location. However, if we had to make a prediction, we would lean towards France.
