The Google Doodle for today honours Cinco de Julio, commonly known as Venezuela Independence Day, which marks the occasion of the signing of the Venezuelan Declaration of Independence in 1811. The Declaration, which is kept in Caracas, the country’s capital, establishes Venezuela’s independence from Spain.
A TV broadcast that includes a speech from the president starts Independence Day. Following that, a military Independence Day parade is held in Caracas’s centre. The celebrations feature a fun mix of athletic competitions, musical performances, and military drills.
Cinco de Julio brings people together in Venezuela to celebrate the history and traditions of the nation, whether they are chanting in parades or congregating with family and friends in front of the tv.
Happy Fifth of July, Venezuela!
