Once more, Jon Stewart is leaving very late.
After two seasons, Apple has cancelled The Problem with Jon Stewart.
The Daily Show’s former host and the tech behemoth reportedly had creative issues, according to The New York Times, which broke the story first. The publication stated that Apple officials were apparently concerned about issues including China and AI.
Prior to the beginning of its third season’s filming, the staff was informed on Thursday.
The Problem with Jon Stewart’s second season had a 12-episode run from its October 2022 debut through April 2023. It follows the program’s nomination for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Talk Series, joining Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on the list.
Through his Eden Productions, which has an overall production agreement with Apple, Brinda Adhikari served as showrunner and executive produced alongside Richard Plepler and James Dixon, Stewart’s manager. The show’s lead writer was Chelsea Devantez, while Lorrie Baranek was the executive producer.
