Apple TV+ is taking on the task of producing a three-part documentary series on the 2024 World Series.
The series is currently under production. supporters will be able to witness behind-the-scenes interviews with players, coaches, media, supporters, and family members as well as unparalleled access to the teams competing for the Major League Baseball (MLB) title.
Imagine Documentaries and MLB, through its MLB Studios label, have partnered to produce the show. Directing and executive producing under his This Machine imprint, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television, is Emmy winner R.J. Cutler. Derek Jeter, a five-time World Series champion, is executive producing through Cap 2 Productions as well. Executive producers include Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein, Marc Gilbar, Mark Blatty, Trevor Smith, Justin Yungfleisch, and Brian Grazer.
“Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader that streams every Friday throughout the regular season, is only available on Apple TV+.
As of this writing, the Los Angeles Dodgers were leading the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series 2-1, while the New York Yankees were leading the Cleveland Guardians 2-0 in the ALCS Championship series.
The newest sports documentary available on Apple TV+ is this one. The internet giant’s streaming division also presently broadcasts Imagine Documentaries’ “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,” “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend,” and “Stephen Curry: Underrated.” Additionally, an untitled movie depicting the life and career of Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is now being produced by Apple TV+.
