Avero Airlines has announced three new routes that will double the low-cost airline’s crew and add new destinations to its route map.
The ultra-low-cost airline, which began operating in 2021, will launch a new route from the North Carolina metropolitan area to New York this spring.
Starting in May, the airline will operate twice-weekly flights between Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Albany International Airport (ALB).
Meanwhile, two new routes will be added from South Carolina’s Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), serving Western New York and New England.
Raleigh-Durham to Albany
Avero’s Raleigh-Durham to Albany service will begin on May 10th and will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
This is just the latest new route for the RDU airline, which opened its crew base a year ago Thursday. Avero currently employs 90 people in Raleigh and has added its second Boeing 737 to Raleigh since opening the base.
Starting in May, Avero will fly between RDU and four airports in New England, New York and Florida, according to aviation analysis firm Cirium.
A year earlier, in May 2023, Avero was actually serving six Florida cities from the airport, according to Cirium.
Meanwhile, two new routes will be added from South Carolina’s Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), serving Western New York and New England.
Raleigh-Durham to Albany
Avero’s Raleigh-Durham to Albany service will begin on May 10th and will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Per Cirium, Avello was actually serving 6 cities in Florida from the airport a year ago in May 2023.
Starting in May, the airline will offer nonstop service to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire, approximately 88 miles from Boston.
This will be his second stop in Avero for Rochester and Manchester. The other in each city is RDU.
Avello’s Greenville to Rochester flight departs May 9 and runs twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
Flights from Greenville to Manchester will begin May 10 and will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
