On Sunday, the Royal Festival Hall in London, England, hosted the BAFTA Film Awards.
With seven awards, including best film and best director, the German film “All Quiet on the Western Front” emerged victorious.
On stage, producer Malte Grunert stated, “We’ve been blessed with so many nominations and winning this is just incredible.”
At the event, “The Banshees of Inisherin” was also favored, winning several awards, including best original screenplay and supporting actor and actress.
The Oscar favorite “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was largely disqualified on Sunday, winning only the best editing prize.
Before the show, the German film “All Quiet on the Western Front” led with 14 nominations, followed by ten nominations apiece for “The Banshees of Inisherin” each received ten nominations. With nine nominations for a BAFTA, Elvis” rounded out the group of top contenders.
