BCCI Announces ₹58 Crore Prize Money for Indian Champions Trophy Winners

The India team that won the Champions Trophy would receive a cash prize of INR 58 crore, according to the BCCI. On March 9, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the championship match played in Dubai.

“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage,” BCCI president Roger Binny said. “The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC) previously declared a cash reward of USD 2.24 million for the winners of the Champions Trophy, in addition to $34,000 for each match won by any team, excluding the semi-finals and finals. This edition featured a total prize pool of $6.9 million, reflecting a notable 53% increase in prize money compared to the 2017 tournament.

New Zealand, as the runners-up, received $1.12 million, while South Africa and Australia, the two semi-finalist teams that did not advance, each earned $560,000. Furthermore, all eight teams that participated were assured a minimum payout of $125,000 for their involvement in the tournament.

India’s performance in ICC tournaments has been remarkable. In the last three ICC men’s limited-overs competitions, they have achieved victory in 23 out of 24 completed matches. Their sole loss occurred in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, which ended their ten-match winning streak in that event. Since then, India has remained undefeated, claiming consecutive ICC titles with their victories at the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
