Google Contacts is now releasing birthday notifications and encouraging users to add that information, as we have been tracking since March.
An “Add birthdays” card will appear in the Highlights tab of Google Contacts under the For you section if birthday notifications are enabled on your device: “Save your contacts” birthdays to see them on your birthday calendar and receive useful cues across all Google services.
When you tap “Add birthdays,” you are taken to a list UI that is designed to allow for quick, mass date entry. By scrolling through the month, day, and year, you can add that information to people whose birthdays are not displayed next to a cake icon. After removing the card, the method for returning to this interface is unclear.
In the interim, when this element is carried out, you can open a singular contact and make a beeline for the flood menu, where you’ll view as a new “Add birthday notification” choice.
This isn’t yet broadly moved in variant 4.7.26.x. It comes after Google Contacts added widgets for Individual and Favorite Contacts to the homescreen a month ago.
