BLACKPINK singer Lisa has announced her new solo single, “Rockstar.”
BLACKPINK’s Lisa announced the title and release date of her new single “Rockstar” yesterday (June 18) through her management company LLOUD, which she founded in February. The song will be released on June 27 at 6PM ET/June 28 at 9AM KST.
“Having made numerous achievements with her album to become a global pop artist, Lisa’s ‘Rockstar’ is expected to garner listeners’ attention, especially with the backing of RCA Records,” LLOUD said in a press release to the Korea JoongAng Daily.
The official announcement of “Rockstar” follows a series of teasers from Lisa earlier this month. This will also be her first release since forming LLOUD in partnership with RCA Records. The K-pop idol will also reportedly have full rights to all of her recordings as part of the partnership.
The BLACKPINK star made her solo debut in September 2021 with the two-song single album “LALISA,” which included the title track of the same name and “Money.” Their last music release was in April 2023 as a featured on Big Bang singer Taeyang’s “Shoong!”.
In related news, BLACKPINK’s Rosé has officially signed with Black Label, overseen by the K-pop group’s longtime producer Teddy Park. The K-pop agency confirmed the news in a statement earlier this week, saying the deal was “based on the deep trust” of Park and Rosé.
Rosé is the only member of BLACKPINK who has not started her own label, as the girl group decided not to renew their personal contract with their longtime agency, YG Entertainment. However, the quartet signed an “exclusive contract for group activities” with the agency.
In February 2024, Jisoo and Lisa founded their own personal companies, Blissoo and LLOUD, respectively. Meanwhile, Jennie formed Odd Atelier (OA) in December 2023, releasing the single “Slow Motion” featuring Brockhampton’s Matt Champion.
