By defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 on Sunday night, the Boston Bruins made history in the National Hockey League.
The Bruins broke the NHL record for the most victories in a single season with their 63rd victory at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.
After securing their 62nd victory on Saturday, the Bruins tied the record set by the Detroit Red Wings in 1995-1996 and the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2018-19 for the most victories in a season.
Currently, the Bruins have a 63-12-5 overall record for the season. They have secured the President’s Prize and home-ice advantage in the end of the season games.
Before the regular season ends on Thursday, the team faces the Washington Capitals and the Montréal Canadiens in two games.
