CAA Tournament 2025 Delaware vs. Towson

Delaware’s incredible journey in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament 2025 continued with a stunning 82-72 upset over top-seeded Towson in the semifinals on Monday. The Blue Hens, who entered the tournament with a 15-19 record and were on a six-game losing streak, made history by becoming the first double-digit seed to reach the CAA semifinals since 2002.

With a chance to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament, Delaware is set to face No. 2 seed UNC-Wilmington in the championship game on Tuesday. The Blue Hens are striving for their third NCAA Tournament appearance this century and their second since 2022.

Towson, which had a stellar CAA regular season with a 16-2 conference record, had high aspirations of making a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1991. Unfortunately, their postseason hopes were dashed by a determined Delaware team.

Last year, Charleston captured the CAA title with a thrilling 82-79 overtime victory against Stony Brook, earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
