For the first time, CBS broadcasted the 2022 CMT Awards on Monday night. Kane Brown, who also garnered the most nominations this year with four, and actor Anthony Mackie hosted the fan-voted award presentation in person. After Kelsea Ballerini tested positive for COVID-19, Brown stepped in. Ballerini co-hosted the ceremony and performed from her house, where she was nominated for three awards.
Legendary mother-daughter pair Wynonna and Naomi Judd, as well as Kenny Chesney, Jimmie Allen, Cody Johnson, Old Dominion, and other country music’s biggest artists, performed on the concert, which was televised live from Nashville, Tennessee.
