Each of the celebs on “Dancing With the Stars” performed a dance based on their worst fears for Halloween, which ranged from dolls, the dark, and vampires to snakes, the boogeyman, and killers. And since everyone gave it their all, elimination might have been their greatest fear.
Partner Dwight Howard performed their eerie contemporary song “Ring Around the Rosie” after Daniella Karagach informed him that he had not yet finished a full routine perfectly. Following their outstanding performance, both contestants broke down in tears as they spoke about how they had overcome a difficult week. It was worthwhile because Carrie Ann Inaba gave them the season’s first ten.
That was only the first ten of the evening; Carrie Ann also awarded the highest score to Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, and Danny Amendola and Witney Carson. Although Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough spent the majority of the evening using their nine paddles, Bruno did award Joey and Jenna a ten, which placed them at the top of the scoreboard.
The night’s last dance was performed by Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong. Chandler didn’t feel very secure after Carrie Ann claimed their Viennese Waltz wasn’t great, even though they had immunity from the previous week and didn’t have to compete in the dance-offs. That is, until they received their scores. Carrie Ann scored them a 9, but Bruno and Derek gave them 10s, including Derek’s first of the season.
Following the solo dances, there were three dance-offs: Joey and Jenna’s jive to “Time Warp” defeated Danny and Witney; Jenn and Sasha defeated Stephen and Rylee with their salsa to “Jump In the Line”; and Dwight and Daniella overcame Ilona and Alan with a cha cha to “Ghostbusters.”
In the end, Ilona was at the bottom of the leaderboard, and Chandler and Joey were tied at the top. Jenn and Sasha were unexpectedly sent home when the judges’ scores and audience votes were combined.
