Future has announced that his long-awaited new project, Mixtape Pluto, will be released on September 20th.
In an Instagram post, he revealed the set’s cover art with the caption “F*** the publicity I got this out the mud MIXTAPE PLUTO 9-20-24.” He also released a trailer for the song “Too Fast.”
Little is known about the mixtape that the rapper has been hinting at for over a year. He previously announced Mixtape Pluto would be returning in June 2023, not long after tweeting that Dirty Sprite 3 would be released.
Last month, he revealed more information about the project. Over the weekend, Travis Scott tweeted about his collaboration with Future, “South of France,” along with a video of the pair on a boat next to producer Southside. The song is expected to form part of the final tracklist for Mixtape Pluto.
A few days ago, Future shared a snippet of a new song titled “Lil Demon.” In August, Future posed for a photo with Pharrell Williams with the caption “Neptune Pluto,” hinting at a possible mixtape reunion between the pair.
Mixtape Pluto comes after an already successful year for Future, who released his collaborative albums with producer Metro Boomin, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You. Both albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the pair just wrapped up their joint We Trust You tour in Vancouver on Monday night.
Future last released his ninth studio album, “I Never Liked You” in April 2022, and this will be his first solo mixtape in eight years. The project, “Purple Reign,” was produced by Metro Boomin, Southside, Zaytoven, DJ Spinz, and more.
