Today’s Doodle celebrates the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024. This tournament is being held for the 9th time since its inception in 2009. It will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates and a total of 10 teams from around the world will compete on the big stage.
In the group stage, the teams will be divided into two groups of 5 and will play against each other in their group. The top two teams from Group A and Group B will advance to the semi-finals for the knockout phase. The winners will battle it out for the championship!
The ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup gives the world’s best cricketers a chance to showcase their skills and represent their country. Reigning champions Australia will be looking to add a seventh trophy to their collection, while newcomers Scotland will be looking to steal the spotlight in their first World Cup appearance.
