The Pixel 9A will go on sale in the US, Canada, and the UK on April 10th, according to Google. Originally scheduled to launch soon after its March 19th announcement, Google postponed the release to look into a “component quality issue.”

On April 14, the Pixel 9A will be released in the rest of Europe. On April 16, it will be released in Australia, India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia. According to Google, the phone will arrive in Japan “shortly.” Google’s website does not now allow preordering for the Pixel 9A, but you can sign up to receive notifications when it becomes available.

Google spokesperson Matt Flegal informed The Verge that “rumors and speculation regarding this delay are false” in response to questions about the delay. “We made the difficult decision to delay the on shelf and take corrective action on the small number of affected units instead of shipping the Pixel 9a because a passive component didn’t meet our rigorous quality standards for device longevity,” he continued.

The Pixel 9A, which retails for $499, has a bigger screen than its predecessor, an improved Tensor G4 chip, and a flat back instead of the Pixel’s prominent camera bump. Even though Google Gemini is supported, it uses a condensed version of the AI model, so it lacks features like Call Notes and Pixel Screenshots.

The single 256GB model of the phone costs Rs. 49,999 in India and will be sold via Flipkart.

A limited-time cashback offer of Rs. 3,000 and 24 months of free EMI from a few banking and finance partners, including as HDFC Bank, IDFC Bank, and Bajaj Finserv, are part of the launch deal.
