H.E.R. and Foo Fighters gave a passionate performance of “Glass” on Saturday Night Live this past October 28, a pairing we never would have predicted.
Dave Grohl took the lead on vocals during the start by Christopher Walken, with H.E.R. standing nearby playing the electric guitar before he joined in for the chorus. On the grunge rock ballad, the R&B singer skillfully expressed her own, gentle approach.
H.E.R. delighted the crowd with a flawless guitar solo prior to the last verse, seamlessly blending in with the alternative rock ensemble. The emotional and powerful rendition did the song’s concept of yearning for someone or something justice.
According to reports that Grohl made his SNL debut as an actor in a comedy about a pregnant woman travelling by airline and in a pre-recorded musical number that parodies traditional country-bros singing about a lake. Additionally, for a brief 30-second ad, the complete Foo Fighters ensemble dressed as Wizard of Oz characters in the spirit of Halloween.
The alternative rock ensemble is scheduled to play the main act at the June 27–30 Hellfest music event in 2024.
