The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 kicks off this Saturday with a thrilling match between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the renowned Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The tournament will begin at 6 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. ET) and will feature a spectacular opening ceremony, showcasing performances by Indian actress Disha Patani, singer Shreya Ghoshal, and artist Karan Aujla. Reports indicate that OneRepublic, who recently worked with Aujla on a music video featuring Patani, may also be set to perform at the ceremony.
Spanning approximately two months, this tournament will include 74 matches held across 13 venues, culminating in the final on May 25. The IPL is widely regarded as the premier and most lucrative T20 cricket tournament globally, attracting top players from around the world.

Who won IPL 2024?

IPL 2025 match schedule: Times, dates, venues
According to the BCCI, a total of seventy-four matches will take place across 13 venues, featuring 12 double-header days. Afternoon games are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. IST (6 a.m. ET), while evening matches will commence at 7:30 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET).
