Who will compete in the Olympic Qualifiers for gymnastics?
The men’s field will be led by three-time U.S. individual all-around champion Brodie Malone, 2023 World All-Around bronze medalist Frederick Richard, and 2023 U.S. individual all-around champion Asher Hong.
The men’s individual all-around Olympic qualifiers will automatically make the five-man Olympic team if they finish in the top three on three of the six apparatus. The committee will rely heavily on results from the qualification events and the Xfinity U.S. Championships four weeks ago to select the rest of the roster.
Competing in the women’s event will be Simone Biles, fresh off winning her record-setting ninth U.S. individual all-around title. The field also includes Tokyo Olympic all-around champion Suni Lee, two-time world individual all-around champion Shilese Jones, Tokyo Olympic floor exercise champion Jade Carey and Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles.
The athlete who wins the Olympic berth in the women’s individual all-around will automatically be included on the five-member Women’s Olympic Team. After qualifying, a three-person selection committee will choose the remaining four team members, taking into account the athletes’ performances since last fall’s world championships.
