2023 BET Hip Hop Awards: Air Date, Time, Channel

The 50th anniversary of hip-hop will be celebrated at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. At 9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 10, BET will broadcast the award show. It will air concurrently on MTV2 and VH1.

Nominees for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards

Drake is in second place with nine nominations, followed by 21 Savage with 12 nominations and Cardi B with 12. J. Cole received six nominations, Burna Boy and DJ Khaled received seven, and Jay Z, Coi Leray, and GloRilla each received four. In addition to them, Lil Uiz Vert, Latto, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Metro Boomin, DaBaby, and Lil Durk are also up for awards.

At the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, who will perform?

Together with Kid Capri Kool, DJ Red Alert, Spinderella, and Scott Storch, who will give a DJ and producer homage, GloRilla, Sexxy Red, Fivio Foreign, and DaBaby will perform. The gala will also feature a star-studded tribute performance honouring So So Def Records’ 30th anniversary, featuring Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, Ludacris, Da Brat, Bone Crusher, Dem Franchize Boyz, and more.

Bun B, Lola Brooke, Cassidy, Gloss Up, Foggieraw, Lady London, Scar Lip, and Symba will all be in the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. The digital cypher will include performances from DJ Head, Maiya The Don, LaNell Grant, and That Mexican OT.

Who Are the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards Honouring?

The I Am Hip-Hop Award for this year will go to Marley Marl. Over the course of his more than 40-year career, the ground-breaking hip-hop producer has collaborated with a number of iconic artists, including the late Biz Markie, Roxanne Shanté, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, and Big Daddy Kane. A homage to Marley Marl will also be performed by Rakim and LL Cool J.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz will also be honoured during the ceremony with the LL Cool J-presented Rock the Bells Culture Influence Award. The Global Visionary Award will be given posthumously to South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
