Hyundai is one of the few automakers in the Indian mass market passenger vehicle segment that has already launched electric vehicles in the country. While Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is yet to launch its first electric vehicle, Hyundai, the country’s second-largest carmaker, has already launched two electric vehicles, namely the Kona EV and the Ioniq 5. Now, the Korean auto giant is planning to do even bigger things.
To grab a bigger piece of the electric vehicle pie in the Indian passenger vehicle market, the carmaker is planning to introduce multiple models in India. One of the most anticipated models is the Creta EV and another is the Inster EV.
Hyundai has already unveiled the Instar EV, showing digital images that give us a glimpse into what the upcoming electric vehicle will look like. Inspired by the Hyundai Casper, the Hyundai Instar is said to be an electric micro-SUV that aims to challenge rivals like the Tata Punch EV in India.

1 Hyundai Inster: design
The design of the Hyundai Inster has already been revealed digitally. It is influenced by the Hyundai Casper and features a contemporary design philosophy. The micro-SUV is compact from every angle. It features round LED projector headlights with unique-looking LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels and bifurcated LED strips.
2 Hyundai Inster: dimensions
The electric car is 3,825 mm long, 1,610 mm wide and 1,575 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The headroom in the Hyundai Instar is said to be 987mm with the sunroof and 1,028mm with the standard roof. The SUV will be fitted with 15-17 inch wheels. The Instar also promises a boot capacity of 280 litres.
3 Hyundai Inster: Features
The Hyundai Inster is a fully-equipped electric micro-SUV with two 10.25-inch digital displays in the cabin, giving it a futuristic look. One display acts as the touchscreen infotainment system and the other acts as the instrument cluster. The Hyundai Inster also comes equipped with a navigation system and wireless charging. Other features of this electric SUV include 64-colour LED ambient lighting, one-touch sunroof and Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch (NFC) accessibility. The SUV comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality and can power external devices at 110V/220V. The electric vehicle can also charge electric bikes, scooters and camping equipment.
4 Hyundai Inster: Safety
Safety is also a priority for the Hyundai Inster. This electric micro SUV comes equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package that includes safety features such as Surround View Monitor (SVM), Rear Parking Alert Assist (PCA-R), Blind Spot Assist (BVM), Forward Collision Warning Assist, etc. 1.5. Other safety features include Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind Spot Warning Assist (BCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert Assist (RCCA), etc.
