Kendrick Lamar has released his new album “GNX,” which includes collaborations from Jack Antonoff, SZA, and Kamasi Washington.
The 12-track “GNX” features SZA, who appears on “Luther” and “Gloria.” Sam Dew, Roddy Ricch, Bobby Hawk, Ink, and many other artists have also been attributed. The album also includes “Heart Pt. 6,” the newest in his ongoing series, which Drake used as the title for one of his diss tracks during the rappers’ feud earlier this year.
Rumors circulated for months that Lamar was working on a new record. DJ Snake hinted earlier this week that Mustard had contributed to four or five of the songs, as well as a surprise Taylor Swift appearance, despite the fact that she does not appear to be on the album.
On the opening track “Wacced Out Murals,” Lamar also references his controversial Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, which many on the internet said should have gone to Lil Wayne because it took place in his hometown of New Orleans. “I used to bump ‘Tha Carter 3,’ I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,” he’s saying. “Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these n—s agitated, I’m just glad it’s on they faces”
