It looks like there will be two Lady Gaga albums in the coming months.
The singer, who announced that she will release the first single from her seventh studio album next month, has just announced Harlequin, a soundtrack album for her upcoming film “Joker :Folie et Deux,” in which she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
“Harlequin” will be released on Sept. 27 and feature 13 songs. Before the announcement, Gaga teased her followers on Instagram. One post said, “I’m ready for my interview,” while another added, “Don’t tell me what to wear.” There was a single acoustic guitar plucked next to a third sign that said, “No duct tape.” Absent mission. She also hinted at the album earlier this week by placing the number “6.5” on billboards. This suggests that, in contrast to the upcoming record, which has the shorthand “LG7,” she does not view this as a complete Lady Gaga studio album.
Gaga stars in the upcoming comic book musical “Joker: Folie au Deux,” in which she sings and says it’s “unlike anything I’ve ever done before,” she said in a recent interview with Empire. The film hits theaters on October 4. The Grammy and Oscar winner co-stars with Joaquin Phoenix Lee, who reimagines Harley Quinn.
The track listing for the soundtrack album can be found below. Rumor has it that these are re-recorded versions of classic songs such as “That’s Entertainment,” which appear in the film.
Both albums follow Gaga’s recent surprise single with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile.” While little information has been released about the new album, Gaga has been hard at work on it for months, teasing it with numerous posts of her in the studio.
A rep told Variety that “Die With a Smile” will not appear on “LG7.” In press material accompanying the song, Gaga said, “I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to hear something he was working on. It was around midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making. We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song.”
So would Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Andrew Watt. He made his name as a pop producer, but has made a big move into rock, including last year’s Hackney Diamonds for The Rolling Stones and projects produced by Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne and others. – Involvement: He also posted on social media Thursday about Gaga and Bruno’s song. In addition, photos of her in the studio with longtime collaborator BloodPop and vocal producer and engineer Benjamin Rice circulated last fall.
At the premiere of the “Chromatica Ball Film,” Gaga said, “I have written so many songs and I have produced so many songs.” She added, “It’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before.” She enjoys exploring music across genres. “There’s something really beautiful about knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”
