Wendy’s is not missing an opportunity to celebrate this leap year.
On February 29, fast food restaurants celebrate Leap Day with a sweet breakfast.
During breakfast hours, Wendy’s restaurant guests have complimentary access to the brand new Cinnabon Pull Apart. Simply order in person, online or via the app.
Offers are not available on third-party apps and customers can only receive one free offer per drive-thru or dining room transaction.
Earlier this month, Wendy’s partnered with Cinnabon to expand its breakfast menu of sweet morning treats. The new breakfast product was described in a press release at the time as “Wendy`s spin on a classic cinnamon roll while still upholding the familiarity of the product.”
The Danish dough used to make Cinnabon Pull-Aparts is covered in glaze and baked with sugar, brown butter, and cinnamon. Additionally, each one has a layer of the famous cream cheese frosting with “a subtle citrus note” from the cinnamon bun brand.
While the design of the new innovation may differ from the typical cinnamon roll, Wendy’s says the classic flavor is still prominent.
After working on it for a year and a half, the fast-food chain released English muffin breakfast sandwiches in August, another well-liked morning item.
The sandwiches are topped with “a fresh-cracked egg, your choice of oven-baked Applewood Smoked bacon cooked daily (unlike the other guys…) or a savory grilled sausage patty and finished off with melted American cheese.” according to a release.
This “other guys” comment seems to cast a shadow on McDonald’s McMuffins. The company’s website says it serves pre-cooked and reheated bacon on-site.
English muffin sandwiches joined classic breakfast menu items such as French toast sticks, croissant sandwiches and biscuit sandwiches.
