Maverick McNealy: Who is he? Everything you need to know about the American golfer

Maverick McNealy has been out for some time. He last appeared at the RBC Canadian Open, where he missed the cut and announced his intention to stop playing golf due to pain in his shoulder.

On November 7, 1995, the American golfer was born in Portola Valley, California. He earned a Management Science and Engineering degree from Stanford University in 2018.

Around the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017, McNealy held the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking before going professional. His first win as a novice occurred in 2014 at the Fighting Illini Invite presented by the OFCC.

Following this, Maverick McNealy won many more amateur competitions in 2015 and 2016. The following is a list of my amateur victories:

2014 – OFCC Fighting Illini Invite
2014 – SW Invite
2015 – The Prestige at PGA West
2015 – The Goodwin
2015 – Pac-12 Championships
2015 – NCAA Chapel Hill Regional
2015 – Northern California Amateur Match Play
2015 – OFCC Fighting Illini Invite
2015 – U.S. Collegiate Championship
2015 – Gifford Collegiate-CordeValle

He played for the United States in the Arnold Palmer Cup in 2015 and 2017, and both times his side won the competition. The golfer later represented his nation in the Walker Cup in 2015 and 2017; they took first place in the latter event.

At the tender age of 18, Maverick McNealy earned a spot in the US Open in 2014. Nevertheless, he was cut from the event.

Studying Maverick McNealy’s personal and professional life

The American golfer, 27, began by playing on the Web.com Tour. He participated in 18 events in 2018 and 12 of them saw him make the cut. His third-place finish at the United Leasing & Finance Championship was his best result. He earned $84,261 this season and came in 65th in terms of earnings.

McNealy was granted a PGA Tour card for the 2019–20 season as a result of his steady play on the Web.com Tour and Korn Ferry Tour. Only six of the 23 events he took part in saw him miss the cut. He earned $1,293,984 in on-course earnings while recording three top-10 finishes.

McNealy has not yet played in a Masters. The other three majors, though, he had participated in at least once. Only at the PGA Championship in 2022, where he placed T75 on the leaderboard, has the American golfer made the cut.

Personal Life

Scott McNealy, a well-known American businessman and a Sun Microsystems co-founder, is the father of Maverick McNealy. In 2010, the Oracle Corporation paid a staggering $7.4 billion to acquire the business.

Additionally, he dated Danielle Kang, a Las Vegas-based LPGA Tour golfer. But according to sources, they called it quits in 2021.
