MVC Basketball: Top Players Entering the NCAA Transfer Portal

College basketball’s version of free agency began on Monday, March 24, when the 2025 NCAA transfer portal formally opened for business.

In the 2024–25 season, the Missouri Valley Conference was ranked 11th out of 31 conferences by the measure website KenPom.com. This implies that there will be an abundance of player skill in the Valley for Power 6 teams to plunder, and they will do so as players follow the increasing trend of signing agents, chasing NIL money, and seeking out more renowned opportunities.

Following the 2023–24 season, over 2,000 players made use of the NCAA transfer portal. 86 of those players used the MVC to access the portal. 12 of the 16 players who were selected for the MVC’s three all-conference teams were among them.

41 players from the Valley are among the 1,138 players nationwide who have signed up for the portal as of Tuesday, March 26, 2025.

Following the 2024–25 season, The Journal Star will monitor which MVC players use the portal. The player choose that school as his new team if it is indicated in parentheses after his name.
