NASCAR Reveals 2025 Cup Series Schedule: What to Expect

NASCAR’s playoff schedule will look a little different in 2025.

The championship race will remain at Phoenix for another season, but New Hampshire and Gateway will become playoff tracks and Talladega will host a race in the third round of the Cup Series playoffs.

NASCAR announced the 2025 schedules for all three series on Thursday. Watkins Glen and Homestead, which hosted playoff races this season, will not participate in the playoffs in 2025. The Glen will return to its traditional August date, and Homestead, where the title race precedes Phoenix, will host an early-season race in March.

A race in Michigan will take place before the opening round in Mexico City. In recent years, the race has always been held in August and has been plagued by rain. A race earlier this month was postponed to Monday.

The first tournament of the season begins in Atlanta on June 28 and ends in Indianapolis on July 27. Races in between will be held in Chicago, Sonoma and Dover.

Gateway will host the first playoff race and serve as the second race of the playoffs. New Hampshire has been the site of the playoffs in the past and will host the first race of the second round of the playoffs.

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City is the only new track appearing on the Cup Series calendar. It replaces one of the two weekends at Richmond. The track’s only race date in Virginia is in August. 16.
