Netflix Cancels “Lockwood & Co.” After One Season

Netflix has ended “Lockwood & Co.” after one season.

The supernatural detective show, which debuted on Netflix in January of this year and is based on Jonathan Stroud’s young adult novels of the same name, was created by Joe Cornish under his Complete Fiction banner.

It featured Ruby Stirs up as Lucy Carlyle, a teen phantom tracker with a terrible past, who collaborates with Anthony Lockwood (played by Cameron Chapman) and George Karim (Ali Hadji-Heshmati) to shape an apparition busting office that has some expertise in managing lethal demons.

While Netflix was pleased with the show and the work that had been put into it, Variety is aware that the viewing numbers did not meet the criteria for approving a second season.

However, Cornish, Edgar Wright, Nira Park, and Rachael Prior, along with Complete Fiction, will continue to collaborate with Netflix. The organizations as of now have various undertakings being developed.

In an explanation, Complete Fiction said making the show had been “one of the most rewarding experiences of our careers” and expressed gratitude toward Netflix, Stroud and the show’s cast, group and fans – whom they namechecked as the Lock Country – for assisting them with rejuvenating the books and embracing the series.

Additionally, Netflix’s planned adaptation of Stuart Turton’s “The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” was confirmed in January.
