Once again, Novak Djokovic has made history by taking the lead in ATP Masters 1000 match victories. On Sunday, the Serbian superstar overcame Camilo Ugo Carabelli at the Miami Open to claim his record-breaking 411th victory. With this accomplishment, Djokovic overtakes Rafael Nadal, his longstanding rival, who had previously held the record with 410 victories.
Before formally breaking the record with his second victory in Florida, Djokovic swiftly caught up to Rafael Nadal, who had 409 Masters 1000 victories going into the tournament. Djokovic reflected on his most recent achievement and expressed his gratitude for it.
“I’m honoured to have another milestone, another record broken,” said Djokovic. “There’s always something on the line pretty much every time I play, and of course that motivates me to do well at tournaments.”

Novak Djokovic’s extraordinary longevity and dominance in the sport was demonstrated by his record victory in the 2024 Miami Open, his 411th ATP Masters 1000 event. The Serbian legend is still making history nearly two decades after defeating Victor Hanescu in Paris in 2005 to secure his first Masters 1000 victory.
Djokovic is the player with the most Masters 1000 championships, having won an incredible 40 over the years. His 2007 victory in Miami, a tournament that has remained a major part of his career, was his first victory at this high level. He became the only player to win all nine Masters 1000 tournaments in 2018, and by 2020, he would have matched that record.
Djokovic, 37, is still breaking records and redefining greatness in men’s tennis, and he shows no signs of slowing down. In addition to solidifying his status as the most successful player in Masters 1000 history, his most recent victory raises the question, “What more can he achieve before he hangs up his racket?”
