The GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, according to Nvidia, will be available for purchase on June 29 at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT. That is a little bit earlier than the July release window that Nvidia previously announced for the card. At $299, the card is the most affordable entry point into the 40-series GPU lineup that the company has offered thus far.
Nvidia’s 60-class GPUs are frequently among the most popular, according to Steam’s hardware survey, with their (relatively) affordable pricing. When it was announced last month, Nvidia positioned the RTX 4060 for gaming at 1080p rather than 1440p or 4K. Despite having less VRAM (8GB compared to 12GB) this generation, the RTX 4060 starts at $30 less than the RTX 3060 before it.
The new RTX 4060, on the other hand, should use less power to run, drawing 115 watts of total graphics power and averaging around 110 watts, compared to 170 watts during gameplay previously.
Nvidia’s lineup will eventually include the RTX 4060 below two Ti-variants, the $399 RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM and the $499 RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of RAM. According to Nvidia’s website, the 16GB 4060 Ti model is still scheduled for July release. My colleague Tom Warren’s firsthand impressions of the model can be found here.
