Opera’s Crypto Browser is now available on iPhones and iPads

Opera has released an iOS version of their Crypto Browser, which is meant to visit web3 and includes a non-custodial crypto wallet.

Previously, the browser was available for Windows, Mac, and Android devices.

According to Opera, this browser was created for both experienced cryptocurrency users and newbies. Opera plans to connect new ecosystems into the app’s built-in crypto wallet, which now supports Ethereum, Polygon, and Celo blockchain technology. Users can buy cryptocurrency using fiat money and swap it, as well as transfer and receive compatible tokens. Users can also incorporate their existing crypto wallets into the browser’s built-in wallet, as long as they’re compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine.

Crypto Corner is a feature in the Crypto Browser app that gathers news and information about cryptocurrency, as well as events, airdrops, and podcasts, to keep users up to date on the technology.

According to Opera, one of the goals of the Crypto Browser is to make web3 navigation as simple as Web 2. Users may visit web3 NFTs and decentralised apps, including 7,000 Polygon-supported services, using the Crypto Browser.

In a statement, Jorgen Arnesen, executive vice president of Mobile at Opera, said, “The interest in Web3 is continuing to grow.” “The Opera Crypto Browser Project was built to simplify the Web3 user experience that has often been bewildering for mainstream users. Opera believes Web3 has to be easy to use in order to reach its full potential and a mass adoption.”

Ad tracker, pop-up blocker, and cookie dialogue blocking are among the browser’s security features. Cryptojacking scripts are also blocked with bitcoin mining protection.

To address environmental concerns about blockchain’s high energy consumption, Opera announced that it was working on integrating Ethereum Layer 2 solutions, which are designed to lessen the technology’s environmental impact. Opera revealed in February that Layer 2 had been integrated into the Crypto Browser Android app. Layer 2 technology is also used in the iOS app.
