For 2023, Patrick Dempsey is ranked as People’s sexiest man alive.
The actor from “Ferrari” and former cast member of “Grey’s Anatomy” was unveiled as this year’s recipient on Tuesday night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
On the late-night talk programme, the actor answered questions from the audience while sporting a genuine animal face filter and a donkey filter, before revealing himself as the sexiest man alive.
“I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” Dempsey told People in the publication’s article revealing him as this year’s winner. “It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”
Laughing, Dempsey said when asked how he initially reacted about the news, “I was really stunned, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve been a bridesmaid for all my life!
Alongside honoree Dempsey, Pedro Pascal, Timothée Chalamet, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Lenny Kravitz, and Jason Kelce, the star centre for the Philadelphia Eagles, were mentioned earlier in the day as among the “many, many sexy men” featured in the publication’s 2023 sexiest man alive issue.
Since the award’s first winner, Mel Gibson, at age 29, was announced in 1985, People magazine has published a yearly story titled “The Sexiest Man Alive.” Chris Evans was the recipient of the award the previous year; other recipients in recent times include Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, and Idris Elba.
A musical performance by Saint Harison and an interview with the hosts of the “Pod Save America” podcast, Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor, were included in Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
On Friday, you can buy People’s issue featuring an interview with Dempsey, titled “The Sexiest Man Alive.”
