Pearl Jam have simultaneously announced a world tour and the release of their 12th studio album, Dark Matter, scheduled for release on April 19th. The band released the set’s devastating title track on Tuesday morning.
His 35-date global tour begins in May, just weeks after the release of Dark Matter, and will hit 25 cities in nine countries, starting at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. In North America, Pearl Jam will visit Wrigley Field, Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park, and play their first hometown show in six years at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena.
Special guests include Deep Sea Diver, Glen Hansard, The Murder Capital, Richard Ashcroft and The Pixies. The band uses a flat price for ticket sales to ensure complete visibility of all ticket prices. To avoid scalping, sales are mobile only and non-transferable. If a fan is unable to use a ticket, the ticket may be sold at face value through a fan-to-fan ticket exchange, in which case no additional fees will be allowed.
Produced by multi-Grammy Award winning producer Andrew Watt, ‘Dark Matter’ marks the band’s first release since 2020’s ‘Gigaton’. The LP consists of 11 songs and was written at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, where the band recorded last year. “simply plugged in and played with producer Andrew Watt at the helm,” the album’s press release says.
He continued, “The musicians faced one another in the same space and communicated sonically at the highest level. Writing and recording in a burst of inspiration, ‘Dark Matter’ was born in just three weeks.”
“We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” frontman Eddie Vedder said in a statement. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
Band celebrates independent record stores with release of special edition of “Dark Matter” on April 20th・I also participate in the day.
