Stephen Curry signed a one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors through the 2026-27 season. The NBA’s all-time leading 3-point shooter and Olympic gold medalist will make nearly $63 million this season.
The team announced the deal on Thursday. ESPN first reported the deal’s availability, and Curry’s agent, Octagon’s Jeff Austin, later confirmed it to The Associated Press.
Curry is guaranteed about $178 million over the next three seasons: about $55.8 million this season, about $59.6 million in 2025-26 and about $62.6 million in 2026-27, which is currently the maximum the Warriors can offer under league rules.
When this season ends, Curry’s on-court earnings will be approximately $532 million, the second-highest in NBA history to date and far surpassing only LeBron James’ player contract make of $580 million.
Curry, 36, is in his 16th NBA season, all with the Warriors. He is a 10-time All-Star and 10-time All-NBA selection, played in four championships with Golden State and won two MVP awards. That summer, he also played for the U.S. team in Paris, winning an Olympic gold medal, including a memorable fourth-quarter performance that helped the U.S. defeat France in the title game.
He averaged 26.4 points per game last season with the Warriors and 24.8 points in the regular season.
