Taco Bell is going to get some cheesy throwbacks soon.
Beginning on October 31, the fast-casual Mexican eatery will bring back five of its previous menu items for a brief period of time. Favorite things from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s are available on the Decades Menu.
The oldest item is the Tostada. According to a press release, it was one of six products served at Taco Bell’s first walk-up restaurant in California. It consists of refried beans, red sauce, lettuce, and shredded cheese on top of a tostada shell. The price of this item is $2.19.
The Green Sauce Burrito, which costs $2.49 and consists of refried beans, onions, shredded cheese, and a tomatillo-jalapeño green sauce, is a representation of the 1970s. Over the years, customers have attempted to replicate this burrito by utilizing ordering methods, making it one of Taco Bell’s “most-hacked” goods, the business claims.
Taco Bell is bringing back a different artifact from the 1980s, even though MTV may not air music videos as frequently as it used to. A tortilla stuffed with beef, pico de gallo, and a three-cheese combination (mozzarella, cheddar, and monterey jack cheese) is the popular Meximelt ($3).
The $3 Gordita Supreme should remind you of Beanie Babies, mood rings, and Tamagotchis after just one mouthful. A flatbread loaded with beef, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and the same three-cheese mixture as the Meximelt is the 1990s-inspired choice.
A $7 Luxe Cravings Box with the Gordita Supreme, a Double Stacked Taco, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, chips, nacho cheese, and a fountain drink will also be available.
A delicious treat from the 2000s is the caramel apple empanada. For $3, the Y2K throwback includes caramel, apple chunks, and crispy dough. This limited-edition dessert won’t be available until November 21st, in contrast to the other Decades Menu offerings.
From November 21 to December 18, fans may have the Caramel Apple Empanada for even cheaper than its $3 price tag. Customers may purchase the 2000s item on the Taco Bell app for $1 during those weeks if they order all four other items: Tostada, Green Sauce Burrito, Meximelt, and Gordita Supreme.
Additionally, Taco Bell is selling retro-themed items. On October 29, users will be able to purchase limited-edition hoodies and stainless steel mugs that draw inspiration from styles from the 1960s to the 2000s via the app. With a medium drink purchase, fans may also pick up plastic counterparts of the mugs in retailers.
