A live version of Taylor Swift’s popular song “Cruel Summer” from the Eras Tour is included on her new album, “The Cruelest Summer,” which also includes a brand-new remix by LP Giobbi.
What a truly mind-blowing thing you’ve transformed ‘The Eras Tour’ concert film into,” the singer-songwriter wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday after the debut of “Cruel Summer (Live from Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour). I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for.”
She continued, “One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported ‘Cruel Summer’ so much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars plus a brand new remix by [LP Giobbi]. Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!”
One of the more than dozen songs on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour set list, “Cruel Summer” is also included in the concert movie, which debuted in theatres on October 13. 2019 saw the initial release of the song on Swift’s seventh studio album, “Lover.”
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” was the highest opening weekend ever for a concert movie with gross receipts of $123.5 million worldwide and $92.8 million in North America. Swift advises moviegoers to sing and dance along to the concert movie, which is only shown in theatres on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
