“Lavender Haze” by Taylor Swift has us floating on a cloud.
On Thursday, the singer told her Instagram followers to “meet me at midnight” as she teased the release of the music video for her most recent single. The video shows a person who looks like Swift sitting on a bed covered in real lavender haze while the hit song plays in the background.
After the videos for “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled,” “Lavender Haze” is the third song from her 2022 album “Midnights.”
The Grammy winner’s longest-running Billboard Hot 100 single is the deeply personal hit “Anti-Hero.” 1 spot, surpassing “Blank Space’s” seven-week reign in 2014 by spending eight weeks at the top.
Swift had previously stated on Instagram that the song “Lavender Haze” was written about her boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn. She explained that they have had to avoid “weird” tabloid rumors throughout their six-year relationship.
Swift continued, noting that she was aware that the phrase “lavender haze” is used to refer to “being in love,” and she stated that “this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”
