Disney was declared winner in the streaming contest for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie. The company declared this afternoon that starting on March 15th, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will only be accessible on the service.
Since this version will feature “Cardigan” and four more acoustic songs that weren’t included in the theatrical film or the video-on-demand rental, which added several bonus tracks of its own, it is being marketed as “the concert film in its entirety for the first time.”
The Eras Tour movie is the best-selling concert film of all time with box office receipts of nearly $260 million worldwide. It is now, at last, making the transition to a streaming platform after being made available for electronic rental in December. The Eras Tour has been made available in 4K quality for small screens; however, sadly, it does not currently have HDR presentation. The movie has not yet been given a physical media release date. I’m sorry, 4K Blu-ray fans.
Taylor Swift revealed her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Sunday night. It will be available in stores in April. The tour, which became a cultural phenomenon in the US and frequently saw fans live stream full performances of the sold-out stadium shows, may enter yet another “era” with these next international legs. In the event that your attempts to obtain tickets for the actual event were not successful, you can look forward to viewing it as part of your Disney Plus subscription.
