Brno, Czech Republic, will host the 2027 IFSC Climbing and Para Climbing World Championships.
The hosts were confirmed with a 53.25% majority by the delegates in favor of the Czech bid after a presentation to the IFSC General Assembly in Larnaca, Cyprus.
The newly built Arena Brno, an advanced multifunctional arena in the second-largest Czech city, will serve as the site, as announced by Czech Federation President Jan Bloudek and Sport Director Vojtěch Albrecht.
The 2027 Championships, which are organized by the Czech National Federation, will take place in Europe again after the 2025 competition in Seoul, South Korea later this year and the Olympic qualifying event in Bern in 2023.
Czechia has hosted World Cups recently, with Brno serving as one of the hosts for the inaugural IFSC World Cup season in 2007 and Prague serving as the venue for the last two years, with a third consecutive event scheduled for 2025.
The bid from Beijing, China, which hosted the 2007 World Cup and is now hosting the Series, was rejected in favor of the Brno bid.
The dates for the championships will be released as soon as they are confirmed.
