According to report, multiple insiders that “The White Lotus” is moving to Thailand.
Season 3 of Mike White’s “The White Lotus” may take place at one of the luxury hotel giant’s four properties in Thailand—in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, or the Golden Triangle—since the first two seasons were filmed at Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. Because the Four Seasons resorts in Thailand are spread out across the city, the countryside, the jungle, and the beach, White has a lot of options for how he wants to play.
White had previously mentioned that “death and Eastern religion and spirituality” might be the focus of Season 3 in Asia.
White said in a clip from the Season 2 finale, “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
Sources claim that White has been scoping out locations in Thailand for the duration of Season 3. It is safe to assume that there will be a lot of new faces on vacation in Asia, despite the fact that no casting details have been announced. Season 2 featured a mostly new ensemble.
“The White Lotus” won 10 Emmy grants for its most memorable season, including for remarkable restricted or compilation series and supporting entertainer for Jennifer Coolidge, who repeated her job as Tanya McQuoid in the Sicily-set Season 2. Season 2 of Coolidge won a Golden Globe for best limited series, anthology series, or television motion picture earlier this year. Additionally, the show won two SAG Awards for Coolidge’s performance and best ensemble in a television drama.
Together with David Bernad and Mark Kamine, White, who also wrote and directed “The White Lotus,” serves as an executive producer.
