The ‘imminent’ debut of Apple’s M4 Macs is still scheduled for the next few days

The recent release of the iPad mini 7 has raised some concerns that Apple may not have enough time to release the improved M4 Macs in 2024, despite our keen anticipation for what seems like months. The good news is that one well-known leaker claims they are still on course to arrive shortly.

The MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini will soon receive the “imminent” changes, according to Mark Gurman, a journalist for Bloomberg who regularly provides accurate information about Apple’s future plans and releases.

Gurman notes that “inventory at Apple retail stores is very low on iMacs, Mac mini and MacBook Pros, Magic Keyboards, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad,” which is another indication that improvements are imminent. As Gurman has previously noted, this is frequently an indication that Apple intends to replace these current goods with new models.

In fact, there have been rumors that the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad—the accessories Gurman mentions—are also in need of an update. Given that Apple still hasn’t given them USB-C ports, which it has just introduced to most of its other products, this would make a lot of sense.

In the past, Gurman has forecast that Apple will launch new Macs with M4 CPUs on or around November 1. There isn’t enough time for Apple to hold an in-person Mac event because participants would have little time to plan their travel, and the date is just over a week away.

Alternatively, Apple might arrange a virtual gathering with a few interactive venues for journalists. For its Scary Fast event last October, which also highlighted new Mac products, the business used this strategy.

Alternatively, Apple may choose to use a series of press releases to merely introduce its new M4 Macs. Given that the Mac mini is anticipated to receive a completely new design, this may seem strange, since you would think Apple would want to spend time onstage showcasing the product’s new appearance.

One of the most significant upgrades in the forthcoming Macs, however, has already been known to the world for the past six months thanks to Apple’s introduction of the M4 chip, which debuted in the most recent iPad Pro in May 2024. That may indicate that an event is not required.

It appears that these products are still on the horizon, regardless of how Apple chooses to unveil its new Mac portfolio. Stay tuned for additional updates over the next few days.
