Tiger Woods’ professional golf career has been exclusively sponsored by Nike. Despite having formally resigned from the brand, he spent a total of 27 years with it. Over the years, Nike has been there for him as he made his most incredible plays, his most impossible shots, and everything else. Long after he retires, people will continue to be captivated by his memorable moments and commercials.
The most memorable Tiger Woods x Nike moments of all time
5) The first moment
Tiger Woods is a legendary athlete. If it weren’t for Woods, a lot of golfers today probably wouldn’t be. His presence and skill pushed the limits of the game and opened doors for others. Nike was aware that he was, at one point, possibly the greatest transcendent athlete of all time. Many people argue that their first advertisement, “I am Tiger Woods,” is proof of the impact Tiger Woods had and the true legend he would become.
4) Nike x Earl Woods
Nike capitalised on the fact that the golfing community was well-versed in Tiger Woods’ parents by having his father, Earl Woods, narrate a memorable ad. He talked about how they got along and how he tried to help Woods become a better player. Further connecting the golfer to the brand, it demonstrated the making of legends. A major factor in the association between Nike and Woods was these advertisements.
3) Nike’s farewell
Nike honoured the great golfer and their partnership, stating that it was an amazing journey and providing a lovely memory of him:
“You challenged your competition, stereotypes, conventions, the old school way of thinking. You challenged the entire institution of golf. You challenged us. And most of all, yourself. And for that challenge we’re grateful.”
Though it may be the last of the two’s amazing collaboration, it’s an unforgettable farewell befitting of a champion. Although it’s certainly an emotional time for both of them, there are no bitter feelings.
2) Nike commercial after the 2019 Masters win
When Tiger Woods won The Masters in 2019, it took the world by surprise. At 43 years old, he suffered numerous injuries and was no longer at his best. In a special advertisement, Nike emphasised the length of time they had been partnered with while smoothly cutting to a younger Woods, who was chasing a Major championship while wearing red and Nike gear.

1) The Masters shot
This image has a few interesting features. First of all, the shot was highly unlikely. The reporters agreed that the ball didn’t appear to have much of a chance. The second shows a close-up of the ball as it slowly makes its way towards the cup. The way the ball rolled over and towards the cup, the Nike logo rotated in and out of the audience’s vision, making this an iconic moment for the company. The legendary Nike moment was highlighted when the transition to the happy Woods revealed the Nike logo on his chest.
