Top 5 Shortest WWE Title Reigns of 2024: Here is the List

These WWE Superstars couldn’t hold onto their champion titles for long, setting records for the shortest reigns in 2024.

WWE Superstars wrote history and unforgettable moments in 2024. But these historic events didn’t just come from memorable matches and notable title reigns, but from winning and losing championships in days, or even minutes.

Records for the shortest WWE title reigns have been notable in and of itself over the years, and 2024 will only add to those unexpected records. The top five shortest WWE title reigns that took place this year are listed below:

5. Motor City Machine Guns (42 days)

When the Motor City Machine Guns joined WWE this year, they made two records for title reigns. After winning the WWE tag team titles on SmackDown in an impromptu title battle, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly quickly overthrew the powerful Bloodline. Although it appeared to be a promising run, the pair lost the belts to DIY in December after Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano used devious ways to win the match in 42 days.

4. Becky Lynch (33 days)

After Rhea Ripley vacated the WWE Women’s World Championship due to a shoulder injury, Becky Lynch won a multi-woman battle royal to become the new champion. However, Lynch’s reign only lasted 33 days, as she lost the title to Liv Morgan at the WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE due to unfair interference from Dominik Mysterio.

3. DIY (28 days)

The team of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa challenged Austin Theory and Grayson Waller for the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown in August. With the full support of the crowd, the DIY duo showed incredible strength in tag team wrestling, defeating A-Town Down Under to win their first main title as a team. However, their reign only lasted 28 days as they lost the belts to new blood Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

2. Jey Uso (28 day)

After winning the No. 1 Contender Tournament, Jey Uso faced Bron Breaker on RAW to earn a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Jey challenged Wolfdog to a fight and defeated him in one of the most emotional nights of Monday Night RAW, winning WWE’s first singles title in 14 years. However, the new blood caused Jay to lose the title after just 28 days, losing to Bron Breaker.

1. Drew McIntyre (5 minutes 46 seconds)

Drew McIntyre waited almost four years for his moment of great fame in front of a sold-out crowd. McIntyre’s wait ended when he defeated Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

However, after the match, McIntyre mocked his rival CM Punk, who was doing commentary for the match. This prompted Punk to attack him, giving Mr. Money in the Bank Damian Priest the opportunity to cash in his contract and take the title. McIntyre held the title for just 5 minutes, 46 seconds, making it the shortest title reign of 2024.
